Right, that's it. Right place, right time. McVay called Staley a savant. Maybe that is true. It's only fair
to ask, though, why his defenses stank. It wasn't just the whole team. It was the defense as much as
anything else.

I am not trying to earn him down as not being a good DC. But I AM suggesting maybe he's not
the savant that McVay thought. Maybe he's just a smart coach like a lot of coaches are smart.

He's a good salesman among good salesmen who had a better product a year ahead of the other guys.

Staley had the Glengarry leads, and that is what made him better than others.
