The Rams were using a silent count. If they weren't Stafford wouldn't be clapping, he would be yelling "hut one, hut two" - or whatever he says - rather than clapping. But on the road, in OT, in shotgun formation the Rams wouldn't expect Shelton to hear Stafford.
Dotson is supposed to see Stafford clapping for the ball and then signal Shelton to snap it. Dotson never signaled. Wish I knew why ...
Working from memory here, so forgive if I'm remembering wrong.
That looked like Stafford audibled to a different play, then may have audibled out of it again. There was a lot of moveent by the right end who came in motion, got set behind the line, then returned to his original position. I suspect there was confusion on a lot of players parts. Stafford should have called timeout.
