The beef from Mahiome and Andy Ried, when we peel the onion a little further, is that refs usually warn the HC when an O player is lined up offsides so they can correct it with the player. If that's the protocol and ignoring it cost the Chiefs the game, and if, as Mahomes points out, we're always discussing officiating after the game instead of the game the players put on the field, then something's wrong that the league needs to fix.
Mahomes and the Chiefs have now lost two in a row on late-in-the-game questionable calls.
Nothing questionable about it. Toney was well offsides. That's on him.
