I thought Tirico and Collonsworth gave due homage to Love as the game went on.
True, they try to spotlight the "star" players every game. Most viewers aren't as plugged-in or knowledgeable as we are. And it's true, if anybody was going to pull a come-from-behind win, as they pointed out, it would have been Mahomes.
Before that burst of adulation, they gave plenty of air time in florid terms to the young GB QB - with screen shots comparing his start to Favre and and Rodgers, saying he was a different QB but inferring that he was destined for great things in LaFleur's offense.
I heard some hero-worship both ways. And I also saw the blatent non-calls that got slo-mo replay and fair commentary from Tirico and Collinsworth.
All that said, I bet Mahomes wishes he could have that one sideline throw back. I wonder what he was seeing at the point of release... Nonehteless, he was dead-on with the two critical throws that could have won the game for KC that fell to the ground due to blatent no-calls.
