My hope is to generate a good discussion from posters and lurkers on why there is such a massive difference in production with Kyren in the lineup. The obvious comparison leans towards Kyren vs Cam. However, with Freeman producing maybe it is more than just Kyren.
Some background--I am a total rbs are easily replaceable guy. I would never give one a second contract over 5mil per, and would never draft one before the 3rd round. Also, I was/am/might still be a big Cam fan boy.
I have not watched the tape. But watching the games I see Kyren use his blockers as a weapon. He leverages them, hugs them, and then explodes at his discretion. Whereas, Cam ran like a victim of his blockers. Cam often seemed to get caught in the backfield by a free defender--is this happening to Kyren? Idk, that's why I'd like to have this discussion.
The production in the passing game is tremendous. Nuff said on that point.
Please educate me on why Kyren is able to produce at such a high level. Has our offense improved? Small sample size of defenses? Or is he legit?
Thanks all. I appreciate the community.
