Ray Malavasi used to be on a weekly radio show. I had driven up from NJ to Buffalo the previous week to see the Rams lose to the Bills in OT 10-7. Ferragamo got injured in the game and was replaced by Haden. So on a whim I decided to call the station to see if I could get on to ask some questions. Told them I was calling long distance and they moved me up in the queue. Ray was very friendly and also a NJ native so that might have helped.
Before I got off the line I told him that I was at the Bills game the previous week and asked him who would be starting at QB. He said that Vince would be in. So I tune in to the MNF game and Howard Cosell says that Haden would be starting the game. I was kind of bummed, but wouldn't you know that Vince did take the first snap.
