100% tunnel vision binders on. Not the mark of an offensive genius for sure.
That will always be a great limiter on talent acquisition and team performance. McVay requires an all-star team on offense plus a lot of breaks and luck for things to break his way consistently against play-off teams. You can't be ALL-IN with a "Dream Team" and luck out on health and against a weak SB opponent with an injury decimated OL matched against an ALL-PRO pass rush most years.

No mystery here. That was a typical McVay play-call (I mean...we've all seen that before, right?) and typical McVay time-mismanagement (I mean...we've all seen that before, right?). We just dismissed them when we were winning.
Yes we have. Remember the SF game back in 2020? The game is tied at 20 after SF kicks a FG with 3:15 remaining. We get the ball with 3:11 left but come out and throw 5 passes then punt. SF takes over with 2:11 left (and all 3 time outs) drives the ball down (56 yds) and kicks a GW 44 yard FG. From the last play of the 3rd quarter, on Akers ran the ball 6 times. 61 yards, 6, 1, 4, 0, 6 but that "0" is what seems to stick out to McVay. And probably the "1". So he doesn't call a run on the final possession. 3:11, all 3 time outs remaining and needing about 38 - 40 yards for a FG...8 yards to Kupp, 6 yards to Higbee, 5 yards to Woods, INC, INC, Punt. Not one stinking run with SF playing the pass 100%. Blinders.
