I will keep showing the math on this, and NFL . com backed me up ...
Race for the 7th spot includes 5 teams ... (With the Saints taking the NFC south)
Vikings are the favorite ... but they're led by Josh Dobbs.
Falcons are next ... led by Taylor Heinecke.
5 wins and 4 wins respectively.
Commanders have 4 wins. They also have a young signal caller, and traded away two premium edge rushers. They are in a tough division.
Then we have the Bucs at 3-5 led by Baker Mayfield who had 470 passing yards put on them by a rookie and have no running game.
Then us. 3-6, and near the bottom on paper of probability.
Vikings are playing the Saints this week. Saints, Falcons, and Bucs play each other. We play the Commanders and Bucs.
We have the best QB, and the best overall offense when healthy.
Could a team make the playoffs with a 7-10 record? Yes. That's sad.
The 9th seed in the AFC will likely be a better team than the 7th seed here.
Also? I don't rule out Dallas and Seattle turning into dumpster fires. I also think the Saints pull it together enough on offense for their defense to start taking over, beating up on our competitors.
Commanders are my biggest likely spoiler. Howell is a good leader.
