So, you suspect that either Arizona or Chicago could be convinced to bypass one of the two top-rated QB's?
Well ... Caleb is pretty serious about who he'll play for. So the questions becomes how much do the Bears or Cardinals like Drake Maye? JJ McCarthy might sneak up here also with a good playoff.
If you're the Bears, you have the option of drafting on top of someone on their rookie contract RATHER THAN supporting a young QB who has honestly decent numbers given the receiver talent around him. The numbers aren't great, but for a running QB you don't know when the light will come on.
Or ... you can take MHJr with one, and trade down with the other and still wind up with top O or D linemen.
If you're the Cards, are you done with Kyler Murray? The salary implications are destructive, so what kind of situation are you bringing a rookie into? Because Kyler will quit on you if you draft a top rookie.
And of course I could be wrong, lol.
But, what I'm seeing is the Raiders trading up for Caleb because he said he'd play there. Might Denver trade up? Might he want to play there? Maybe. But they've lost a LOT of draft capital lately. Would the Patriots go all out? After giving Mac Jones zero WR help would they trade their future? Doesn't seem their MO.
And the first 5 picks should be 2 QBs, 2 OTs, and a WR.
