Blinkscout Game 9 Packers

Pretty surprised to see the doom and gloom ... we were playing with a player who should not be on a roster as our QB. There are plenty of negatives to spit venom at, but most of it is personnel moves or a lack thereof.

I want to get this out of the way tonight because blech.


The Great

1) Byron Young. 5 sacks now ... looking at double digits pacing, especially since he's had 2 called back from penalties elsewhere. I know whose jersey I'm getting next.


The Good

2) Aaron Donald doing his thing.

3) Kobie Turner.

4) Austin Trammell.

5) Witherspoon and turnovers.

6) New leg's 52 yarder. Way to go kiddo.

7) At least I didn't have to see Kendricks today.


The Bad

8) They ran on us much more than I would have liked. Love can't pass, we can sell out to stop the run, and didn't.

9) End around on 3rd and inches.

10) Running play on 4th and 2.


The Ugly

11) So ... drafting Stetson was a bad call. Someone should be fired there.

12) Next, not finding someone to replace him and serve as a capable backup should also be a fireable offense.

13) Knowing this before the season, and watching helplessly as no one did anything about it.

14) Couple the above with Josh Dobbs throwing three TDs today.


College

15) What a weekend. Great games, hope you all got to watch.

16) Official retraction apology ... I had not been able to find a specific log of Penix's injuries and missed by a lot. 1 ACL, 1 AC joint, another ACL, another AC joint ... 4 seasons ended in injury before the last two years he's been healthy. How many boards is he not even on? How far could he slide at 24 years old with that history? He throws a great ball, but he has a great O line and tons of protection.

17) If we're drafting closer to the top 10 ... I'm making a play for Maye or McCarthy. We'll have competition in the Broncos and possibly a few others. I figure the Raiders will go after Caleb.
What I don't have is contract info on the Cardinals and Broncos. Better for them to wait another year and pick up capital or draft a QB now even if he has to wait?

18) The QB race for next year I think is getting hotter. No sure fire #1 like this year but that's not all bad.

19) OT is maybe the best class I've seen in a while. Possibly 8 deep? Morgan on AZ is for real, Fauga on Ore st. Patrick Paul. The BYU kid. The top 2, then Mims and Latham. 8. Then there's the possibility of the Oklahoma kids. But from what I can see, the class after is somewhat similar.

20) RB ... looking at guys like Tahj Brooks in the 4th or 5th. That's my aim.
