Questions that make some Ram fans squirm. I might add.
Let’s look at these Ram O results objectively, okay?
Do we think we have a good enough HC/play caller?
Do we have a quality QB?
Is our RB room sufficient, assuming run plays are called?
Is our OL adequate?
Is our WR corps good enough?
Are we okay at TE, assuming that they’re being used in the O sufficiently?
And yet our O results are nowhere near what we expected and need.
I have to say that I think that McVay is not maximizing his talent on this roster on O sufficiently. There, I said it.
Playcalling
Game plans against certain opponents
Uses 11 sets too much which makes him easier to defend
Insufficient use of TE’s in his arsenal
Over-reliance on Kupp and Puka as targets instead of making D’s defend every blade of grass like in the old days
Abandoning the run game at times
Calling empty sets against a poor run D
Mismanaging timeouts when taking too long to call in plays
I think he tends to not take full advantage of his various OC’s
These are just a few of the glaring mistakes of McVay’s that we’ve all witnessed. Sorry.
