Many here should know I'm not one who is much for hyperbole or cheerleading. I occasionally offer a contrarian viewpoint if I believe the truth is being distorted more than I care to allow. With that said...

I readily admit I never scouted Evans. I seriously doubted he would crack the game day lineup this year unless it was on special teams. I carelessly dismiss offseason hype of any rookie until I see them in a real game. Even highlight draft reels always show players in optimal conditions.

I was wrong to do so. This kid has a special gear I struggle to recall. Maybe Dickerson but more sudden (ED was a smooth criminal). Adrian Peterson had it at times. It's strange to me that he has only used these uncommon jets a handful of times...but they are Chris Johnson-like. I feel like most of the time he is running just as fast as he has to.

I wonder if my eyes deceive me or if anyone else has seen evidence of this in his college tape. Others may notice his Wendall Tyler like ball security...but I sure liked how Wendell slashed in the playoffs. Call me a crazy old coot, but I really think we are going to be handing this kid the job soon.
