Tutu has show a lot this year. Runs great routes and has great hands and we all know he is the fastest player on the team by a wide margin.
He is our only true deep threat but I haven't seen enough of that yet. Perhaps with Kupp and Nuca both in the lineup they will draw the attention and Tutu will either be open deep or draw attention and opening up the intermediate routes.
In the Seattle game they put Tutu in motion regularly and even gave him the ball on a jet sweep a couple of times. I think the treat that Tutu poses serves as a great decoy or a threat on the jet sweep or to continue on with a wheel route. This causes the defense to spread horizontally which should open things up especially with Kupp back in the lineup.
Tutu has been used in a lot of over the middle routes and has been effective. This is not a part of his game that I was really expecting. I think with Kupp back in the lineup we will see Tutu used differently and as a result while his usage may go down his threat to make explosive plays may go way up.
Anyway I think defenses are going to have their hands full if the running game if effective as it was in the last game. Should be fun to watch.
