I'd only add that the Rams didn't abandon him or throw him under the bus. They (McVay publicly, Snead behind the curtain) have handled this situatin with dignity, restraint, compassion and integrity.
Other teams (not all - every one is different) would have quietly shoved him out the door or thrown him down the stairs.
In this situation and the Akers situation, the Rams organization reveals who they are - and think of the message that sends to the players: They watch, and learn that this team expects your personal best and will help you achieve it, both on and off the field, and that the team expects your committment to the team in return. The team will make every effort to help you grow professionally and personally - will go the extra mile in their walk with you to make that happen. If you hit a rough patch, the team has your back.
Call it inspiration, motivation, or something else - it shows on the field.
