Gosh how quick we all are to write this kid off.
We really don't have any good information just a bunch of speculation though admittedly some of it is an educated guess.
Is he a wasted pick? Non of us knows that. The kid has a bunch of talent and has had a bunch of success in the past and that hasn't changed. All we know is that he has a sore shoulder and is dealing with some issues and won't be available for a few more games.
Even if he has to go to rehab does that mean he doesn't come back or that he won't be effective as a backup QB who hopefully doesn't leave the bench this year?
This wasn't a miss by the scouting department either. A calculated risk yes but even I knew he got arrested for Alcohol before the draft and I doubt Snead missed that either. He is still a kid and he did something stupid, how shocking. They liked the way he plays and leads a team and saw value in the 4th round. If he didn't have some flaws he would have been take much earlier.
If the didn't still have hope for him they could have just waived him which they didn't. It seems they and Bennett are dealing with the situation hoping that it results in a positive resolution.
Worse thing that happens is that we took a calculated on a 4th round pick and it didn't work out. That's football and it happens all the time. It sure beats whiffing on High end 1st rounders. And it is still way to early to write him off.
