If one official per crew is paid for two key calls per game, over the stretch of 14-16 games per week for 17 weeks per season those calls might influence the outcomesof a several games per season.
Players can be on the up-and-up and play their hearts out, and teams will win or lose, usually, based on that. You don't need to tip the needle too far.
We all see it every week. AD is getting held repeatedly and blatantly. There are numerous photos and videos of it all over the internet.
I think if they would throw a flag on only HALF of the actual holds on AD it would change the outcome of quite a few games.
By not throwing the flags, they are giving the other team an unfair advantage.
That's just one example and I am sure there are many others too. Like the refs not throwing the flags on that KC OL, it kept that game closer than it should have been.
