There was a time

When who was the Ram's best WR during the McVay era was actually in doubt. For me I always preferred Woods over Kupp. Kupp seemed to have a higher upside but early in his NFL career he often had injury issues late in the season of many of his NFL seasons. Woods and Kupp were 1 and 1a very similar. McVay and this is just my opinion, and maybe Stafford took offense of Woods' taking offense when the offense started to be designed solely around Kupp being the #1 option. They then got rid of similar skilled Woods in order to acquire Allen Robinson. Who never fit and never worked. The perfect version of the offense would have been Kupp, Woods and OBJ. The beauty of Woods is he could easily approximate what Kupp does, IF he were to be injured. For me Woods is a better pro prospect than Van, Robinson and even OBJ. We basically lost him for nothing, his cap hit isn't that outrageous. For me the loss of Bobby Trees heralded the end of that Rams team that won our last Super Bowl. Nothing has gone right for the franchise since we lost Woods. It felt like the end of "We Not Me". Like I said I put most of the blame on losing Woods on McVay and Stafford but I was surprised that Kupp who always sang Woods praises didn't raise more of the stink on shipping him out because if Kupp would have said no I can't imagine the Rams would have gone though with trading him. For me losing Woods is a bigger personnel mistake than the Tutu Creed debacle because it seemed to effect the feel of the entire roster. The "We Not Me" AD would have been on the sidelines after an injury late in the season, but the version we have now couldn't be bothered. Creed would have improved the talent on the roster, but a lack of talent wouldn't infect the attitudes of the vets.
