I think you, me, Mama and maybe a few others are suspecting the same thing but are hesitant to express it for lack of verifiable evidence.
So I'll pose it as a question in search of a real answer:
Could it be that our Strength and Conditioning staff, pulled largely from college ranks, are in over their heads, or for other reasons lack the background and expertise to train and condition pro level athletes to avoid injury, or lack the authority to pull them out of practice or out of a lineup if injury is an iminent risk, or lack something else (equipment, facilities, outside consultant resources, etc.) that is contributing to what seems to be an excessive injury and recurrence of injury rate?
Another question: Is this something that could be addressed, evaluated, and fixed?
And another: Who are the best three Strength and conditioning coaches in the NFL right now, as measured by their team's injury frequency/recurrence and other measurable daata, plus reputation? Second part to that question: Would Stan open his checkbook to bring such a person and their hand-picked staff to the Rams? And if so, does hiring non-playing ancillary coaches cost draft picks?
