1st the nickel who drifted back
people always complain that QBs don't throw for the sticks on 3rd down...
that they throw short and let the receiver get YAC and they always
come up short.
Now someone does that and gets picked... we have a QB with the
moxy to try and get the first by throwing to the sticks .. . and
we complain. Throw was money ... the flat guy, quicker knew
the situation drifted back and got there...he's smart, it seems
I don't think you look off a check down, maybe, I don't know as much an technical QB play
at least to that level...maybe..maybe flat receiver was supposed to run different route
or run it better to occupy the nickel.
Now, that does not mean signing a vet backup is a bad idea
it would be...but that was a great play by the nickel.
