I se what you mean; for example, Ricky Proehl was an effective blocker as a small man in the open field long passing game. He got in people's way, knocked them just far enough off balance to take them out of the play. Tutu ain't no Proehl - yet.
That said, in short yardage I'd rather have Skow clearing the way for a receiver out of the backfield or a crosser from the other side than Tutu. I stillthink that Tutu will become less effective the shorter the field - or down and distance - becomes. Unless, for example, McVay want to torch a defense that is creeping the safeties close to the box on third and short, for example, with a play-action pass to Tutu.
