the basic, thief, robber, rat
thief = free safety is in the hole
robber = one of the safeties in the hole
rat = nose tackle in the short hole
Rams don't do "free" and "strong" in terms of position . . . on any given play
it could be either one...but on every play one safety is free, one is either
strong or the the field or boundary, depends--anyway in thief the
hole guy is the free safety...so on given play it could be Fuller or ot could be Rapp (going by last year's personnel)
Robber is the safety to the side of the nickel...so that will mostly be strong, but could be the field safety (wide side)
Rat (also called spider in other schemes)
