I wouldn't give an every-down spot to a receiver who can't or won't go up for a contested or well-defended ball if I had other options. Either Van is being coached and growing beyond this weak spot in his game or he isn't. He has other tools but limits how-where he can be deployed without this one.
And that's a problem I have with him being on the same field most of the time with Tutu, even though their combined speed could give a secondary fits.
Tutu, regardless of route running skills that may be constantly mproving, still has the catch radius of a dishpan. He's simply not big enough to be effective going after jump balls. He has hands - if the ball is well-placed, which is no problem for Stafford - but has to be well open when the ball arrives to make the reception. The same is true, for different reasons, for Van - unless he's become a better possession guy than he was in the past.
