We seem to be talking here like he is a bust if he doesn't become a starter this year. And it seems that way because he was our first pick in 2022. But remember, that first pick was in the 3rd round. The hit rate for 3rd rounders becoming ongoing and valuable starters is probably in the 20% range. I am hopeful that he will be a solid starter for us, but won't be surprised if he doesn't.
On the other hand, we are talking that possibly our UFA LT Alaric Jackson may be a better starter at LT than experienced and high round Noteboom. That would be a bonus that more than makes up for missing on Bruss.
So, just another lineman we draft that can hopefully be a starter in 3-4 years? Feels like I've been waiting a decade for Note, and I'd hate to see another go down that path.
Sorry, but I'd like to hit on a lineman every once in a while. Our track record for "the ones that got away" is better than the ones we hit on, and it goes way back.
It's just crazy to me that the Chiefs realize their line is garbage, and they go and fix it. We realize our line is garbage, and we ... are here, hoping it coalesces over the next month.
