That is not all he said, the interview was much longer

July 24, 2023 09:15AM
All the things you repeated are his commentary on his frustration.

He was not articulate in that interview, he was kind of ticked.
But when he said "He also said there is no such thing as a franchise running back any more."

the context was "in their minds" or "according to the analytics" . So the meaning of what he
was saying the opposite of what the second part of the interview said.

Reminds me of a line in the movie "Presumed Innocent"
An ADA who hated Harrison Ford's character was wanting to charge him
with the murder of his lover. Ford's did it and set him up (spoiler alert)

When Ford was confronted by the DA and the ADAs he looked pretty
guilty and got mad and stormed out of the room, angry because he didn't like
being falsely accused.

So the ADA said, "You did it, I know you did, finger prints blah, blah, blah"
SO an angry Ford said, "Your right I killed her" and the ADA was stunned.

Later the ADA wasted to be a witness and the judge wouldn't let that in for
a couple of reasons but the judge understood it was sarcasm, not an admission

Anyway, Faulk is mad about this situation. In his frustration, he expressed that there
is no solution and in his frustration expressed that teams don't recognize franchise backs
but went on the make the case that there are...and did so by saying how much they carry the
ball, block, catch, run routes as decoys...etc.

So, like Harrison Ford, he said "there are no franchise backs" but without the full interview
there was no way to know he was saying that there are.

And the rest of the interview is there--along with interviews with Chris Johnson and other
RBs on this subject.

As always, I'd encourage everyone to listen to both sides...there is a lot for all of us to learn.
