you need continuity at center

Center is the 2nd most important position on the OL. Honestly, you can make an argument it's first. Allen has ability. He's a hard worker. Smart. All that. He was a solid contributor throughout 2021 in helping them win it all. One of the more surprising "seemingly out of nowhere" single seasons for a Ram I can recall given where he was before that year started.

But the issue is the OL really needs continuity and they can't have a series of starts and stops at center. The odds Allen can come in and start 17 games- or 16 or 15 or 14- are really low. They can't have one center for 3 weeks, another the next 4, back to the first guy for two, etc.

If they want Allen active for 17 games this year- and I'd love to see that- it would be best as a depth piece. Someone that can fill in as needed. He's being paid to be more than that but it is what it is.

I really think Shelton is their best starting center option with Bruss and Anchrum battling it out for the RG spot.
