You mentioned Thomas' size, but I'm not that familiar with him so I looked it up. The Rams list him at 6'2", 275 lbs.
They also still list Hoecht at 6'4", 310 lbs. Fans generally assume that Hoecht shed some weight now that he's officially an edge. Even so, is there any way he's less that 290?
Let's say Hoecht is 290. He and Thomas would weigh a combined 565lbs! Has any team ever played a 3-4 with edges that weighed more than that?!? (And I don't actually know the answer to that, but I would bet 'no'. Actually, I would bet 'not even close'.)
that Hoecht will be less that last year and that THomas will be about the same. I guess they could play at the same time but I was
thinking it could be those two rotate one side and the Young/Hardy share time on the other.
An athletic side and a power side.
Hoecht and Thomas played the right side last year and I was guessing they will stay the same --- with the maybe sharing it, but
it may not be that way.
They can go left and right, strong or weak, with Floyd he'd play either side...depending on several tings. In base he was usually left, though
but you'd see him on the right.
Anyway, to answer question, I don't know if there has been two 3-4 OLBers at 275 and 290 ... if there has it would be rare. In a 3-4 the DEs can be huge, 300-325 pounds then have the OLbers in the 260s ... and in 4-3 DEs..they can easily have guys that big on each side
but in this scheme? Have to say it's rare which is why I thing they will not have them in the game at the same time...
