I read it ... it was a six man front, not a five. Don't know if he misspoke or not

He said someone like LaFluer could've helped McVay know what to do with a five man front in the lost Super Bowl v the Pats 4 1/2.

A 5-man front is normal... a 3-4 presents as a 5-2 surface. A 4-3 overshift or undershift presents as a 5-2 surface.

In Super Bowl Pats ran a 6-1 tilt which presents as 6-man surface.

Other than that...the McVay vs Shanny offenses are different enough in what they call. The language may be the same
but McVay mostly an 11 personnel guy and Shanahan more 21 personnel (uses a FB Juicecheck)
and both run mostly wide zone ... Shanahan will run some man blocking... power, pulling a guard and having a lead blocker

Shanahan a better master of the running game--it's more complete..when someone shows him a 6-man front he has an answer
McVay--at the time--didn't,

McVay, IMO, Superior in the passing game --- better than Shanny at it.

I think that's what he's probably talking about
