Part of ability is availability and Noteboom just has not been able to stay healthy in any way. In fact, the Super Bowl year where he backed up Whitworth and was very good, he seemed to last a few games or less and be hurt. Whit was out against Tampa, Boom filled in admirably, but then was hurt and not available against San Francisco the following in the NFC Championship game or even for the Super Bowl. IMHO, regardless of dollars & cents I believe this will be both Allen's & Boom's final year in Horns with Coleman Shelton & Alaric Jackson being the starters moving forward.
))))

The odds are against Boom going forward. Can he beat them? Not impossible but he would join literally just a handful of OT's that came back from an Achillies tear and played at an acceptable level.

I'm expecting the worse and hoping for the best.
