Sad, but I knew he was done as I lived in NY and was only 11, but had watched enough football to wonder what were the Rams thinking? It would have been great if you could have put Namath's arm on Haden, but if you did that, Haden would have been a top draft choice. Overall, if was a tough season although I was hoping the New Head Coach was going to be Stanford's Bill Walsh because I loved his offense and felt the Rams needed that type of coach.
Carroll Rosenbloom liked Walsh, but at the last minute was talked into George Allen by his son Steve Rosenbloom because Steve felt all George Allen does is win, although Steve didn't look at Allen's post season record as his post season record was worst then Knox, although Allen did get the Redskins to the Super Bowl.
