Is it a dilemma?
You have to field a team during preseason games, and there is no way they can avoid putting rotational players out there.
Even with the allowance the NFL has made on roster numbers, the Rams will be absolutely use guys they expect to make their roster and be used in rotation
Especially on the defensive side of the ball. There's some guys they'll keep for special teams that will enjoy snaps with the offensive and defensive units..
It may be interesting to see who is in rotation at RB and WR.
Rivers, Evans, Williams.
And how many RBs to they keep?
I imagine they'll want to see if Lawrence McCutcheon has sharpened.
As for Stetson, or even Rypien, can there be enough support in the OL to give them a chance to find targets?
On that note, do they give extended reps to the offensive linemen we think may be rostered?
I thought that was a distinct issue coming out of the tunnel to start last year. Critical downs in that Bills game didn't go well for our OL. Multiple fails. Particularly Noteboom. The defense weren't exactly dynamite, either.
Will McVay chose an alternate approach to preseason games? He may not have much choice.
One would think that only AD, and E. Jones would be mothballed on the defensive side.
With this many youngsters deigned to make this roster, the staff will find it tough to keep them idle.
