Good stuff, 53. Thanks.
I'm interested to see how Hardy pans out in his second year.
His 10 yard, 3-cone at under 7 seconds, and vertical over 36 (40? Really???) jump out at me. First time I've seen those numbers. Coming out he looked like a super-athletic kid with explosion and quickness that you can't teach - but can coach up.
Personally you can't ask for a finer - nor more intensely motivated - young man. Plus, he played college ball in this bumblestick flyover state where the whole state is on one area code, and they play football outdoors where wind chill factors push driving snowstorms across the field at sub-zero temperatures. The thermometer may say 10 or 15 degrees, though, and that's warm enough. (He'll be an asset to his southern teammates when it comes time to get acclimated for Green Bay.)
What I sense after watching him for just a couple of plays in real-time last year is that he was up against more than he could counter with what technique he had. This is what I expected when he came out of Montana State, my wife's alma mater.
If good coaching can seize on his natural physical abilities and desire that is off the charts I think he can make it - and be one of those players that gets remarkably better with experience, and make a real contribution because of who he is.
I you or anybody else has further observations on him I'd really appreciate knowing what you have to say.
