I think a lot of teams have picked up edge rushers who played next to AD, only to find that their productivity mysteriously declined when they were no longer playing next to an all-world DT who regularly commands 2-3 blockers.

Fowler is a good example.

My guess is they are wondering how much of his productivity was him and how much was the AD effect.
