1) Although the author points out that the Jets have declined to pick up Becton's 5th year option, I don't know what he's owed for this upcoming season. What is it?
2) Regardless of what Bectonnis owed, do the Rams have the $ for it?
3) Assuming they have the $, as Ram4life points out...are the Rams interested in signing any FA's (considering they might be in a position to draft a top QB in the next draft?
On its face, spending a 6th round draft pick on a flyer like Becton could make some sense as he'd be a hungry (no pun intended) competitor at LT and he'd be a FA in 2024 if it doesn't work out.
But speaking of "working out..." If Becton were to show out, would the Rams feel comfortable giving him a new contract considering his weight/injury issues? Despite those issues, Becton already seems to be eyeing FA in 2024. Would he consider a one-year prove it deal? Regardless, he might be forced to.
Just remember a couple of years back when the Jets came to SoFi. I think he was playing LT in goal line and he nearly single-handedly wiped out the right side of our D-line. I mean...he completely "disappeared" AD on the play. He could be a weapon if his head's on right.
