When I was a child ED was my favorite Ram and I blamed the organization (Georgia) for being too cheap to keep him. As I have gotten older while still pro player I recognize the self defeating prophecy of paying a player the most for his position, then having to lose other parts around him to stay under the cap so he gets sullen and leaves for another team that will pay him even more. I understand the player wanting to get what they can and the owners will continue to print money but it isn't hard to imagine a scenario where AD gets frustrated at the current state of the Ram's roster and demands a trade, when in fact his contract demands are a big part of why the roster is as it is right now.
I don't want to be a hypocrite because I know the cap balances out the league which is best for business. Back in the day I feared a NFL without a cap because with cheap behind Georgia, the Rams would never compete but now that Stan is the man, the Rams could dominate. Great for the Rams not so great for the league as a whole.
