I am not excusing Spagnuolo in any of this, I just remember reading that the snitch in the locker room was indeed Hewitt and it is that was one of the major reasons he dropped the case. Spags was more paranoid then Martz and that is communicating something. Overall as much as I criticize Jeff Fisher because I expected more from him and he was paid to expect more, Fisher did restore some dignity to the franchise and made the Rams competitive in most games.
A little bit of irony, the reason Spagnuolo's interview with the Jets did not go well in 2009 is that Spagnuolo wanted to hire his own OC, he wanted Pat Shurumur and the Jets wanted any coach they hired to keep Brian Schottenheimer as their OC. Obviously Schottenheimer was Jeff Fisher hire as OC, much to the chagrin of all Ram fans, until they got a taste of Frank Cignetti & Rob Boras.
