That's the first I've ever heard that it was due to passing insider information. All I've ever seen reported was that Hewitt was fired due to age discrimination. Spagnuolo was such a paranoid micro-manager, that I wouldn't be surprised if the real reason was, indeed, something else but age discrimination is the only reason I know about until your post. .I do remember that Hewitt had filed an age discrimination lawsuit against the Rams and after 4 years, he dropped it.
