Noteboom is now 6 months removed from his Achilles injury/surgery. He's probably pretty far along in the rehab process but I'm sure still has a ways to go. Let's err on the safe side and say he's not going to be 100% until 10 months out- so that's late August. He might only be able to do individual drills in camp until then.
I would start Jackson at LT. He was their best performer at LT by a long shot last year and has room to grow still.
Put Avila at left guard and don't look back.
Shelton at center with Allen backing him up.
Right guard- open competition between Bruss and Anchrum (with McClendon now in the mix there). Like Anchrum, McClendon has extensive college RT experience so he could be a depth piece there if needed but sounds like he's really more of an NFL guard. And as the article says Shelton has played some RG too.
Havenstein at RT.
Depth: Noteboom, Allen, Arcuri, the RG competition runner-up and McClendon. I don't care what JN and BA's contracts are, I think the Rams are better off with them as depth (week 1). Noteboom gets more time to heal up and Allen is far more likely to be active for all 17 games if he's not playing every snap.
That looks like a pretty good OL that is young enough to grow and improve during the season. I also like that we have some depth and versatility with multiple guys able to play center & Guard and multiple tackles that can play guard and guards that can play tackle.
