I'm reserving judgement on Allen.
When his leg is healthy he's a good, steady player. His vet experience making line blocking calls will help the two newbies beside him. He knows thew system and when nhalthy, doesn't miss assignments.
If his leg has responded well to extra time off last season, we'll be OK. If he gets hurt we have options. I'm not throwing him oin the scrap-heap - yet.
You realize that you used the ‘when healthy’ caveat twice in that brief post?
He’s seldom healthy, not fully, anyway.
He’s got the heart of a lion and I respect him greatly, but I know I just can’t count on him to be out there.
And, tbh, even on those occasions when he might be fully healthy, I still consider him now the 3rd best OC on this team.
