And I "think" that it means... McVay, I do not believe, drafts a QB whose peak is a solid backup, not that early anyway... I think McVay sees him as a potential starter because if not he's not a Ram. IOW... McVay sees a lot more in him than how I'm reading the board consensus regarding his potential.

So as shocked as I was by the pick Bennett is for me, by far, the most intriguing pick the Rams made this year. That he will backup Stafford this year, and most likely next? Duh! But that doesn't in the least lead me to think the Ram's are of the opinion that a 'starting QB' is a need in the next couple of years. I think they believe they just drafted the next starter.
