In all the years that Shaw was with the Rams he was right 3 times in like 35 years. Hiring Dick Vermeil, ensuring everyone agreed that acquiring Marshall Faulk because originally Vermeil was against it and strongly suggesting to Vermeil to go external for OC in 1999 hiring Mike Martz over Mike White. Other than that, he was bad for the organization as it was John Shaw that convinced Georgia she could be more then a figure head and convincing her to fire her Step Son Steve Rosenbloom and running the organization herself with him of course as her right hand man.

Those are the three-Vermeil (I was against), Faulk (could not believe we got him), Martz (know little about).

Dickerson was complex---but bottom line was he wanted more money and Shaw wouldn't pay.

But Shaw did get a haul for him. One of best hauls ever. Rams (he an Math) blew 75% of them)

I'm not sure if Thurman Thomas would have helped either.

He asked Greg Bell who was best RB--said Thurman, Rams took Gaston

JimYoungblood5340May 02, 2023 10:17AM

I REALLY REALLY wish the Rams had hung on to Bell and Holohan while retooling.
