had plenty of draft capital to move up for Michael Irvin

May 02, 2023 07:14AM
Other than Flipper Anderson, the 1988 draft was a disaster for the Rams. They were loaded with draft capital from the Dickerson trade and just plain blew it. If they had made the right moves, they might have been in a position to win a Super Bowl and field a good team well into the 1990s. Michael Irvin would have been my target in that draft (this is not hindsight). He was taken only three slots before they took Gaston Green.

I'm not sure if Thurman Thomas would have helped either.

You nailed it. He wasn't even a football fan. He loved St.L Cardinals

JimYoungblood5336May 02, 2023 10:15AM

He asked Greg Bell who was best RB--said Thurman, Rams took Gaston

JimYoungblood5338May 02, 2023 10:17AM

I REALLY REALLY wish the Rams had hung on to Bell and Holohan while retooling.
