Re: IF this year is made out to be looking toward 2024....

If this year is setting the table for 2024, which so many say ..."this is a 2 year work in progress"....IF this is true are there not higher grade alternatives coming out next season at the QB position? I don't want a QB off the bat because IMO he won't instill any positive show going into 2024. I can see one in the later rounds, but not off the bat. Where we sit right now with 45 guys under roster you gotta think that we will be choosing in the top 6-7 in 2024.....not throwing them into the deep end and sink area, but really I think you have to be real about expectations.

If this team is setting up for the "Money Shot" in 2024 IMO they should set that table by getting as many pieces together that go AROUND a high pick QB....don't do a Sam Bradford all over again, or even a Jared Goff (if it wasn't for getting Sean in here) Jared was not going to perform to the level he got to, there was little to no support for a high draft QB. Now I realize that #36 may not be considered a high pick for many to almost all teams, but for the RAMS in current years it is a high choice.

And I do think Matthew can play much healthier this season too.....get a guy in the lower rounds and get a serviceable vet not named Wolford, or Perkins for this season..

I agree with a LOT of this unless the Rams believe that Levis, or Hooker for that matter, is Stafford's replacement in the next 2 years. If they do, then they could use an early first round pick to grab a left tackle or a to trade back and build some real draft capital in 2024. If these guys are stop gaps to be b/u QB and that all they see in them and hope that "maybe" they'll see enough to not have to take a QB in the first next year, then forget about it. Grab a guy in the 6th.
BTW... I sitll think you could see Wolford come back to compete with a late QB draft pick to see who is number 2 next season. But, if they do that, they would likely have to keep 3 QBs on the active roster all season.

I still think that the Rams will have the ability to trade back from 36 if they want to and if they get an offer that makes sense. If not, take the highest guy on your board at whatever position. They don't have enough "Pillars" on this team to pass on the BPA even if it doubles them up on one of the few positions still on the roster.

If he’s available, Rams should draft Will Levis at 36…

Devil's advocate--teams that need QB passed on him

Does Stafford have 2 years left?

Ram4life54April 28, 2023 10:51AM

He might have 4 or 5

promomasterj65April 28, 2023 11:10AM

  Very doubtful IMO
