They are going to need-
really need- 3 or 4 guys who are (if not starting) then contributing right out of the gate. Week 1. Edge rusher, a CB, a 2nd TE, the DL rotation. Etc. And while this Draft isn't loaded at the very top it is stocked with guys that can do just that. And I of course still want an OL taken somewhere in the top 100.
So call that taking "safe" picks or whatever. But as Jourdan has also said on the podcast, the Rams realize they don't have the luxury of taking guys in the 4th (and maybe 5th and 6th) round just for special teams and as 'projects' (i.e. TE Jacob Harris).
I think their preference is certainly to move back (maybe twice) from 36 in order to acquire more top 120-150 overall picks. I really hope they can maneuver for 5 of the top 120. But they also should be prepared to take someone if a top-25 guy falls to them.
