There is a counter argument - and this is what the Rams might be thinking, not what I'm thinking.
There seemed to be a lot of conversation a couple months ago about how the Rams finished 27th on offense last year and McVay, an offensive guru, wasn't happy about that. And so there was a conscious decision made to get the Rams back towards the top of the list with an assumed objective of replicating what the Chiefs are able to do.
And if that's where the Rams want to go, edge and CB aren't going to get it done.
I totally get what you're saying, but if the Rams go RB or WR or TE at the top of the draft at least we'll know why.
