I get the ‘difference maker’ argument over need/value and it certainly has merit.
But I’m still advocating Edge and CB in whatever order with our first 2 picks. I don’t want to see Snead/McVay get ‘cute’ with picks in this draft. no more Atwell, Terrel Lewis, Jacob Harris types, please.
Just healthy guys with proven college production this year all the way through our 7th rounders will suit me just fine. This draft absolutely, positively MUST provide a strong roster base for our launch in 2024 back to deep playoff status. Consequently, there is little margin for error on our picks in this draft. Ideally, each pick will be a building block for next year.
Which brings me back to my wavering position at pick 77. Previously I wanted an OC that could beat out Shelton. Thought that would have the most ripple effect to improve our O overall. But now I’m thinking that it might be better to ‘settle’ for Shelton at OC this year and use that pick for another position. Perhaps a semi difference-maker like TE? I think studs will be sitting there at 77.
Or maybe a second CB or Edge? Or whatever?
Man, I am SO ready for this draft. Enough with the speculating.
