You know, the biggest reason our Rams blew chunks last year was not a lack of talent nor did the coaches do a lousy job nor did Snead suddenly get stupid. We had an incredible amount of injuries. First,, nearly every OL got hurt. Then their backups got hurt. With no blocking our QB got hurt. Our best WR got hurt. Our second best WR got hurt. The best player in the NFL, AD, got hurt. Our starting safety was hurt. You can't just shrug off the chain reaction. Now, we might only have 44 players and are eating a huge amount of cap space, but our 3 superstar players who happen to play key roles should be back healthy. Stafford, CK and AD. Almost all the rest of the injured players will be back healthy. Almost every team would love to have Stafford as their QB. Only Buffalo, KC and Cincy would pass.
Every team would love to have AD or CK as they are the best at their positions. There are other good players on the Rams too. Havs, Higbee, Jones, Akers and Fuller for sure. Maybe Hoecht, AJ,Noteboom, Durant, Lake. Allen and Shelton could play well too. Who knows about the youngsters like Tutu, Bruss, Yeast, KW? If they all play well we have the makings of a decent team. If we draft really well and sign the right fill in vets we could be pretty good. If we're close maybe Snead will make a trade to add a big pass rusher. I don't really know, but the pointing to the 5-12 record like that's going to be this years team is nonsense. We were signing street players to start along our OL. We were down to starting BM who was released and became our 4th QB.
We lost the best WR weapon in the league. We lost the best player on our DL. Injuries happen, but it was unreal. I love the underdog scenario. We should sneak up on teams and bite them hard. After winning most of our first half schedule the talking heads will come back. They won't apologize for their ridiculously negative predictions. They'll pretend they knew all along that the Rams would be good again. But, we'll remember. Yes, we will.
