The punter we had stunk, he was not any good, to replace him may not seem like much, but if it takes time it will not be helpful. Replacing a top 3 kicker is something else. But if it takes 4-6 weeks to find a so-so kicker it will be very bad for the team IMO.
Both areas are IMO very big for a team trying to re-imagine themselves. Punting assists both the D and the O. A well placed ball can help the D with a ball downed inside the 10......that can also help an O trying to find their way with a poor drive followed by a booming punt. The kicker is obvious, giving an O a scoring threat when the O may be having issues to sustain drives going for 7, you at least come away with 3. Touch backs are vital as well to stop return chances.
These 2 spots are IMO important and need to be manned with viable players who can be big parts while being just 2 players in what is considered a team game.
