Great question. Some will mention the comment that he's here for the "long haul". Comments like this in today's coaching ranks, especially in the NFL and NCAA, hold little value.
I don't think McVay agreed to only come back for one or two years. IMO, McVay knew how big of a rebuild this would be and knew it could take several years to complete.
IMO, he will stay long enough to see this rebuild to completion. He had plenty of options. Go to the announcing, take a few years off, go to another team...
He chose to stay and come back to rebuild this thing. I think that's a good sign that he is confident in himself and the FO that they will do whatever it takes to get it done. Even if that means we have to go through a year or two of rebuilding.
This will be a big test for McVay. He kinda inherited a fully loaded team that only really needed some offensive direction. This rebuild will be 100% HIS team.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
