Brad Holmes was our draft guru.
but a lot of people here who are down on Snead
rip him for the draft picks that were left after the
trades for Cooks, Stafford, Ramsey.
Holmes was part of all those until he left in 2021
So, he was part of the 2020 drafts---and before.
Maybe had input into the early process for 2021, the
in-season stuff . . . but leave that out.
So, does he get praise for the good one and not the bad ones?
If he's the guru he gets credit for Donald, Gurley, Kupp, Gaines, etc
Then he has to get blame for Arkers, Jefferson, Lewis, Rapp, Burgess,
Bobby Evans, Noteboom,
In Detroit he's not been perfect
Don't know how much he had to do with the 2021 draft in Det...
probably less than in 2022 . . . he was not there in the
early stuff ... he was here.
So, maybe 2021 bust is not his fault. but someone in Detroit
pulled the trigger on Levi Onwuzurike who had a bad back.
then he gets to NFL and hurts his back.
Sounds like Terrell Lewis.
Did Holmes approve of the pick in 2021?
If Snead too Jameson Williams and he performed here like he did in Detroit
we'd not be happy. So on that one it's early.
His 2nd rounder didn't do much either.
His very early #1 was a great pick.
So my point is not to rip Holmes. It's just to point out that he was part
of any success AND failures of Snead's group.
Cannot blame Snead for the busts and credit only Holmes for the success.
Any busts are partially on Holmes, IMO, based on our limited information.
