Flutie was an 11th round pick by the Rams in the regular draft.

In the USFL supplemental draft they took DE- William Fuller (traded to Houston in the Everett deal), QB- Rick Johnson (who went to the CFL) and a 3rd guy who I forget.

was going to correct . . . . but

anyway, yes, I was wrong about that. However, those were regular draft picks . . . not the futures picks
the NFL had back in the day which is what I was referring to.

If any team wants to draft someone from the Army or Air Force who has to serve and will not play
for four years they can still do that. It's not what is referred to as a futures pick . . . like
with Bass or Anderson . . . I think this is just an issue of the word 'future' being polysemous.

But yes, I was wrong initially and appreciate the correction.

and the 3rd round guy was Jim Byrne - had to look that one up.
